What happens when the church attempts to be all things to all people?
What happens to the original mission of the church? The author argues that
the church has allowed itself to be overwhelmed with trendy psychology and
has lost its own identity.
Our postmodern world tends to ascribe all power to science and its
accomplishments. Little credit is given to faith or belief. Theology has
been psychologized, and as a result, much of its mysticism and thus the
value of that mysticism has been lost.
"This is a call for church leaders, members, and psychologists to
rethink their underlying premises and methods."
